Jal Prahari Samman 2025: Honouring 33 Water Conservation Heroes Across India

New Delhi, 10 December 2025: Thirty-three exceptional water conservation champions from across India have been selected for the 6th Jal Prahari Samman, an annual national honour celebrating remarkable contributions in water protection, restoration, and community-driven water management. The awards will be presented on 11 December at New Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi.

This year’s list includes 22 men and 11 women, recognized for their commitment to protecting and revitalizing water resources. Uttar Pradesh leads the tally with nine awardees, followed by Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Karnataka.

Dignitaries Expected at the Ceremony

Several senior leaders and officials are expected to attend the event, including:

  • C.R. Patil, Union Minister for Jal Shakti

  • Rajbhushan Choudhary, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti

  • Rekha Gupta, Chief Minister of Delhi

  • Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Chairman, Parliamentary Committee related to the Jal Shakti Ministry

  • Manoj Tiwari, Member of Parliament

  • Other Members of Parliament and senior bureaucrats

Providing details on Sunday, Anil Singh, Convener of the Organizing Committee, shared that this year’s Jury Committee was chaired by Justice G.S. Sistani and included experts from NITI Aayog, the National Water Mission (Ministry of Jal Shakti), and specialists in hydrology, community water management, and sustainability.

Projects demonstrating strong public participation in water conservation were given priority during the selection process.
